Special tools, testers, measuring instruments and auxiliary items required

• ◆ T10004 Two hole pin wrench

• ● → The angled retainer -arrow- must locate in cut-out on cylinder head.

Prerequisites

• ● The engine must only be hand touch warm.

Test sequence

• ‒ Set the engine to TDC No. 1 cylinder.

• ‒ → Press hard with thumb on toothed belt. The indicator -2- must move.
• ‒ Release thumb pressure on toothed belt and turn crankshaft two turns in engine direction of rotation until the engine is again at TDC No.1 cylinder. When doing this it is essential that the last 45° (1/8 turn) is performed without stopping.
• ‒ The tensioning roller must return to its original position. (Notch -1- and indicator -2- are again aligned).

Note:

Use a mirror when checking.
